Are You Proud of Your Humility?

Humility is to make a right estimate of one's self."  -Charles Spurgeon

We like to think and talk highly of ourselves thereby increasing our worth; however proud people hardly move up the ranks in peoples' minds.  It is funny........we try to personally build ourselves up in the minds of others through self-aggrandizement only to lower our stock.  We think if we talk tall, we will impress people who don't even like us anyway.  The truth is you don't have to impress friends because they know you and your dirt and like you anyway.  When will we realize that humility goes a long way.  It's hard  for people to identify with folks who have no faults or rarely make mistakes.  I truly enjoy people who are aware that they are human and treat you likewise.  It's hard for anyone to digest proud peoples' smut on a daily basis - especially when they see their own faults with a merciful eye but see your faults as a shame.  How about you?  Do you have a right and healthy estimate of yourself or do you think those who know you are lucky?  Do you view others' faults and weaknesses with the same merciful eye you view your own shortcomings or are you extremely critical of others?  Beware, life has a way of humbling those who need it.
