Forget Excuses and Just Do it!

"He that is good for making excuses is seldom good for anything else." Benjamin Franklin

We live in a soft society today. We do not wish to hurt or offend anyone. Because that is the case, we accept and tolerate all kinds of excuses and as a result, we perpetuate the problem. Excuses will not pay the bills. Excuses will not fix the car. Excuses will not help build the marriage. However, an excuse is much easier than responsibility and character. We are so afraid of admitting when we're wrong, and we are so fearful of being seen as weak, that we offer an excuse; yet, excuses after a while, only destroy our reputation and make us look weak as once feared. Men, women, friends, we need not be afraid to pull ourselves up by the boot straps, forget excuses and work for success. Never have I seen an excuse maker become a success so let us drop that method and become a Doer ~ one that makes things happen. I'll close with this story: I always remember back to High School Track. My bestfriend Felix was a Doer. We could always count on him to bring us to the top in points. Why? He was a person of character. He worked to win. He also had sisters who weren't excuse makers and pushed him to work. What am I saying? Forget excuses and learn to just do.
