Trust in Him Who is Unseen

"Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all the ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct thy paths." Proverbs 3:5,6

One of the hardest things for us to do as human beings is to trust in someone we can't see. Especially in a world that is so focused on sight. Everything is visual today. You can watch a video on any subject, and we live to watch real life footage of someone's life. However, as Christians, we are asked to live by faith (Romans 1:17) and not by sight. Sight involves human ingenuity and power which is limited. “By faith” involves seeing the unseen hand move in your circumstances (Hebrews 11:27). What a privilege and how exciting. Time and time again, my family has seen God move where it was beyond human control. In this particular passage, God asks us to trust Him with all our hearts. What a privilege. The God who created heaven and earth with all its intricacies is asking us to trust him with our hearts. If He could create the majestic mountains, the vast seas, the amazing outer space and the detail human body to name a few, I guess he is worthy of our trust. In fact, if he would send his only Son to die on our behalf, I am sure he is worthy of our trust. Even the trials he sends us is for our good. Have you ever seen a good sailor who didn’t first experience the rough waters? Of course not and the same is true of a good Christian. Yes, you are going to experience some tailor made trials, but trust God that he knows what He is doing. I know, it seems natural to lean on our own understanding, yet  if you look back at the results of your own decisions, you've made some good decisions and some real blunders.  God always bats 1000pct.  He promises in the latter part of verse six to direct our paths if we acknowledge him.  That means we call on him for help and guidance and give Him glory for the results.  Who are you trust in today?  Are you trusting in the arm of flesh or in the infinite understanding of God?
