"Man that is born of woman is of few days, and full of trouble." Job 14:1
We live in a day and age where modern Christianity teaches that God promises a bed of roses for those who follow him; however, that would be a slap in the face to Jesus and His disciples who suffered excruciating deaths. That would also be a slap to those who suffer martry's deaths in foreign countries. Truthfully, I find no pleasure in the above verse but I do find comfort in it. I am comforted by the fact that I am normal. It is easy to feel like you're the only one on this planet going through rough waters. It is easy to look around and see everyone smiling, happy and with material goods and assume everybody is hunky-dory except you. You think somehow God loves everyone but you. However, nothing could be farther from the truth. God loved us all so much that he placed us in a perfect world to inhabit; yet, man fouled up and as a result we live in a cursed world or a world full of trouble. God again demonstrated His love for us all by sending His Son to redeem us from the fall we created. He allowed His son to be a sacrificial lamb on our behalf. What Love! Yes, you are still going to suffer trouble in this life, but keep in mind, you are not the only one going through suffering. That is something we all have to experience. The good news is God knows who you are if you are His and will not let you go through the storm without Him. Contrary to contemporary belief, God won't take you out of the storm; He just rides the boat with you. Trust Him Today.
