It is not the perfect but the imperfect that need love - Unknown
It is so easy to love those who love us. It is without struggle that we love those that are lovely. Oh, and those that treat us well......how eagerly we reciprocate that love. However, the true test of love is loving those that are unlovely or unkind to us; those who who demonstrate anger or bitterness toward us. Yes, they too need love; maybe so much the more. Let me explain. Of all the attributes that can be ascribed to God, the greatest is Love..............He is love. And if we are His, it should be our goal to be like our Father. You see, God so loved the world that He sent His Son to die for the unkind, unlovely, unholy and unappreciative. Yes, that is us. Despite the fact that we have disobeyed Him and used Him, he continues to love us. How can I now in turn despise those that are of no use to me. When Jesus said, "love your enemies" he meant it. Now, that doesn't mean you become a rug and get walked on, but it does mean you honestly try to help that person in need even when they've given you a "knife in the back". This was not a sermon - just a thought!
