As Long as I'm Right

"Let your speech be always with grace, seasoned with salt......." Colossians 4:6a

I've heard many people say, "Well, as long as I'm right who cares how I said it." While others will say, "I've always been this way or I'm old school", etc. The list of excuses for not obeying God goes on and on. But the Bible teaches that how we say it is just as important as what we say. When you deal with people, it's not just about being right; tactfulness or choice of words are also important. Face it, we as humans are stuck with each other in this planet; we might as well make the best of it. Our happiness in this world is tied to relationships. Whether these relationships be deep or surface, intimate or an acquaintance does not matter; we must deal with people on a daily basis. Because the fore mentioned is true, we must be careful how we say things or risk destroying relationships. If we were robots, who cares; the only important thing would be being right. However, because we deal with humans with God given emotions, we must use caution with our words. Just being right is not good enough if you care to keep relationships alive.
