Stop Living on Hand-Me-Downs

"If you don't ask, you certainly will never receive."  RMJ

If you had a big family growing up and/or were of a moderate to low income family, you know what hand-me-down clothes are all about.  Depending on your gender, if your older brother or sister was wearing something you liked, you knew it was just a matter of time before it became yours.  Eventually however, you start wanting something that is all yours.  You get tired of playing the waiting game for the garment to be yours.

Ironically, many times we live our lives waiting for the hand-me-down experiences of life.  We love hearing all the great stories of times past, yet never bother to make our own history.  We love watching touching movies of life changing experiences but never bother to make a difference in other lives ourselves.  When we hear how God answered prayer for a friend in a miraculous way, we glory and praise God for it and we should, yet we never trust God for our own miracles.  How many times do we see someone doing something we wish we could do and even know we have the talent to do it, yet never attempt it.  We live our live satisfied with the hand-me-downs of life.  Stop waiting for those hand-me-downs and start asking and reaching for something new.
