Inaction has Consequences

"Your Actions cause things to happen; as well as you Inactions."  RMJ

The story is told of a middle aged man who's wife was divorcing him.  The man could not understand his wife's decision to divorce him.  He had been a faithful husband all the years of their marriage and had worked hard to provide her with all the luxuries a woman could want.  "Why?" he pleaded with her.  She responded, all these years you provided luxuries when all I wanted from you was your time.  Surely you could not have misunderstood my hints and pleadings.  Many times you took me to fancy dinners and company banquets where you spent your time with clients and all I wanted was a simple dinner for you and I.  For years you had your staff buy me gifts for special occasions when all I ever asked of you was that you would bring me home some flowers.  Now, the kids are gone and I am stuck with a man I do not know.  She went on to say, "It is not what you did but didn't do that has brought this about."  This story is not meant to condone divorce, but to state the obvious.  Many times we fail to see that our inactions have just as many consequences as our actions.  This truth can be applied to any facet of our life and not just marriage.  Inactions can cause us problems with our friends, co-workers, our employer, family and our God.
