Stop Being Your Worst Enemy

"If you think you can't, you're right; if you think you can, you're right also!"  Henry Ford

What was Henry Ford trying to say?  Was he trying to be funny? no, he was trying to teach us a valuable principle; actually, a Biblical principal...... you are what you think.  In 1954, Roger Bannister became the first person to run the mile under 4 minutes.  Prior to this time, scientist and doctors believed this was an impossible feat.  In fact, they believed the human heart could not withstand such pressure and would explode.  After he conquered the "under 4 minute mile" feat, others began to do it.  What Changed?  Did the human race suddenly change?  Did human strength and stamina improve?  No!  He BELIEVED he could do it and so he did. As a result, others new it was possible and they also did it.  He changed their belief system. This could be said of any area.  Look at Michael Jordan; he changed the way people played the game of basketball.

I remember hearing a story about elephants and how they train them to stay in place.  As young elephants, they have their ankles chained down to a tree.  For days they try to escape but to no avail.  Eventually they begin to believe they cannot escape the chain and learn to stay in place.  At this point, the trainer can chain their ankles to a little stick in the ground and they will never escape.  Many times we act the same way.  We are taught as little children, directly or indirectly, that we can't do something or that's for someone else and as a result, we are bound by the chains of lies in our adult life.  Friends, the only thing stopping you from achieving what you desire is your belief system.  Stop letting lies and fears dictate what you do.  Take your life by the horns and lead it!
