Many times we look out the window of life and think life will bring us good things on the next turn, yet we do nothing about it. Friends, we all have a part to play in our life. Yes, God is in the miracle working business, but He has also given us His Word so that we might make right decisions. Of course God can perform a miracle and get us out of a self-inflicted trial, but God would rather we avoid the trials all together. In other words, it would be a wise thing for us to make wise, biblical decisions, and when we've done all we can to right our ship and things continue to head towards disaster, it is then that God intervenes.
It wasn't until Peter was sinking in the deep, that God intervened. It wasn't until the three teens in the Old Testament were in the fire, that God intervened, and it wasn't until the Israelites had their backs against the sea, that God parted it.
Why? Because God wants us to play a part in our life. He gives us free will. Once we've tried to honor God with our decisions and things continue in the negative, He then intervenes with a miracle if it is His will. Note: it is not a miracle if we can do it in our own power. I said all that to say this: some people falsely believe if they make No Decisions but leave it all up to God, their life will turn out just peachy. As a result, when their life is a mess, they blame God for it……… never realizing that God had left them a book of wisdom called the Bible which would guide them into building a good, righteous life.
