It's Easier to Swallow Sugar Than Vinegar

"All my life I have tried to pluck a thistle and plant a flower wherever the flower would grow in thought and mind."  -Abraham Lincoln

One of my all time favorite Presidents is Abraham Lincoln.  I guess you could say I like him for selfish reasons.  The adversities he faced and the way in which he rose above them are so encouraging.    He ran for many offices and lost most of them, yet he obtained the highest office in the land.  I don't know about you, but I would have been a little apprehensive to seek the office of  President when I had already lost many inferior elections.   Many times he was torn on the inside due to mounting problems, yet he could offer encouragement to those who sought him.  For all the troubles he faced, he always tried to encourage others.  What a role model.  Could you imagine how your life would change if instead of putting out thistles you would plant flowers in the minds of people.  Life has enough negatives of it's own we need not add to them by using destructive talk.  I'm not saying to lie to everyone, but use some common sense and tact.  Everything has a balance.  You don't always a have to act like a bull in a China Shop destroying it's contents.  Trust me, it's easier to swallow sugar than vinegar.  Be wise about how you live and what your say because it will define your life.
